Cass 2004 was one of the best yet and we would like to give a BIG THANKS to everyone for your support through the years and look forward to the coming ones. With what we pitched in as a club and what you all bought on the 50/50 tickets, 10 kids had a fulfilled wish list under their trees on Christmas morning. Friday started out rainy and chilly but the rain had pretty much passed by late evening. Saturday brought overcast skies but no rain so this was great weather to get out and do the OBSERVATION RIDE or explore the back roads as the Knobbies (our biggest club in attendance again) do. The evening meal was a big hit (as it always is) and the evening brought out the D.J. Most people for some reason just tuned out the music and mingled through the campsite to kick tires and tell lies. The popcorn machine kept Evad and Sharon busy all evening but when they weren’t popping corn they could be seen sneaking in to the office to shoot the breeze with Bonnie, Bill, Charlie and Betty. Most turned in early but a select few (Mike and myself) burnt the midnight oil and soaked up the heat from the well tended fire that was once again watched over by Baxter. Weenie man had other obligations and was not in attendance.

Sunday morning was COLD!  I think it got into the high 30's overnight. After everyone thawed out with a cup of coffee or breakfast from one of the local restaurants, they each went out to sight see, take a ride on one of the Shay locomotives at the Cass railroad or go to the Greenbank Observatory in search of the Extra Terrestrial.

By ten o’clock Kenny was fast at work on his infamous chili. The majority of the attendees were packing up and heading out a little after noon. If only they knew about the great tasting chili they missed out on. A small number stayed on till Monday but the majority left by late Sunday heading home, to Washington D.C. for the Run to the Wall or to Summit point for the vintage AMA races. Over all it was a great weekend and the weather Gods smiled upon us.  Do to the hustle and bustle we have misplaced the winners of the Grand prize (the jacket ) and all of the various other awards such as distance, youngest, oldest, and scariest.... oh wait that's another thing totally. We look forward to seeing you all in 2005 and we’ll try to make it even better. Ride safe!
